Description
The XM is built for everyday freshwater fishing. Matched to a 4- or 5-weight rod, it’s the right tool for trout on rivers, bass in lakes, and the most common freshwater species most anglers pursue. Approachable enough for someone new to the sport, the XM is capable enough to stay on your rod for years.
The XL is built for larger freshwater species and light saltwater use. Matched to a 6- or 7 weight rod, it handles bigger trout, bass, and pike in freshwater, and it performs on light saltwater flats chasing redfish and smaller bonefish. The point where the X-Series starts reaching beyond the river.
The XL MAX is the most capable reel in the X-Series. Matched to an 8- or 9-weight rod, it covers the largest freshwater species and extends into light saltwater fishing—redfish, bonefish, and smaller tarpon—without requiring a step up in reel family. If you fish big water, heavy lines, or want one reel that handles both environments, this is where the X-Series finishes. Machined in Miami. Built to last.
